Ball Bearings or Bearings
is a device used to support the rotation of various machines Helps reduce friction between contact surfaces, reduces wear and tear, and reduces the energy required to drive machines. It also helps increase the performance of machines so that they can be used as well and efficiently as possible. The main function of ball bearings is to carry various loads (Load) of machines, including weight, centrifugal force, various forces from rotation, angular movement of machine use, etc. In addition, they are also used as an aid in predicting life and Planning for maintenance of machines that may suddenly be damaged and cause an impact on the factory as well.
Bearing components
1.Outer ring : Serves to support the ball bearings inside.
2.Ball or Roller : Serves to support weight and transferring the force generated from the spindle.
3.Separator or Retainer : Serves to set the distance between the rollers to be the same distance. and do not let the rollers touch each other.
4.Inner ring : Serves to prevent the rollers from coming into direct contact with the shaft.
5.Seal or Shield : Used to prevent foreign objects from entering the bearing.
Type of Bearing
1. Ball Bearing
Characteristics of this type of ball bearing It contains spherical ball bearings made of solid metal. It moves between the Outer ring and Inner ring, which serves to support movement and reduce friction between the shaft and the machine. Including helping to increase the efficiency of rotation as well.
2. Roller bearing
Characteristics of this type of ball bearing It is different from the first type which has a cylindrical shape made of solid metal. It is contained within a moving chamber between the upper and lower rings. Which has the same function as a ball bearing, but Roller bearings are commonly used to receive axial force. which can withstand force better than spherical bearings.
